Date: Friday 25 April at 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Location: Pedagogen (Grönsakstorget), Hus A, room A2 330.

Massive Open Online Courses or MOOCs are internet based courses with the capability of handling thousands of participating students. These courses are open in that they do not require students to be registered at any particular university, are accessible worldwide and most are currently offered for no cost to the student. The number of MOOCs has increased dramatically in the last 3 years and there are now hundreds of courses available online, ranging from general interest to advanced level university courses. Anne Farewell will discuss her work with designing a MOOC in Molecular Biology with a focus on the pros and cons of MOOCs in general and highlighting some considerations for the future.

The seminar is organised by the Network for ICT Teachers in Higher Education (SIP).
