The PIL newsletter is published twice a year (April and October). This is a condensed version in English.
The PIL Unit promotes pedagogical development and interactive learning at the University of Gothenburg.
The spring 2022 PIL courses will open for applications on Thursday 28 October, tentatively around 9:00 am. Places are limited and will be assigned on a "first come first served" basis. The courses may quickly be fully booked, so don't wait to apply. If you belong to Sahlgrenska Academy, please note the information below!

It has not yet been decided whether the course Teaching and Learning in Higher Education 2: Subject Field Pedagogy (PIL102) will be offered in English in the spring of 2022. This will be decided soon.

Do you belong to Sahlgrenska Academy (or VGR)? Then you must use a special application form. Application period for Sahlgrenska: 11 October – 7 November. Submitted applications are then ranked by your department.

The Gothenburg Conference on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (HKG 2021) takes place on 23 November. The conference theme: What is good education at the post-pandemic university?
The conference is aimed at everybody at the University of Gothenburg with an interest in teaching and learning in higher education.
The main conference language is Swedish. However, one keynote speech and some of the afternoon presentations will be in English.
The seminar is held in Zoom.
The University of Gothenburg must be accessible and inclusive for everyone. On the PIL website you can find tips and inspiration on how your teaching can be made accessible to a diverse student group with individual needs.
A number of open online courses will start this autumn at the University of Gothenburg. The courses are available to anyone without fees and are developed by teachers at the university. Three of the six courses are in English. The courses are non credit, and there are no application requirements to participate.
The courses are developed under the project Sharing culture for education, widening participation and knowledge creation (DURK).

Due to Corona, some parts of the University's courses and programs are held as hybrid teaching. This means lectures and seminars where students can participate in the discussion either online or on campus, synchronously. For a teacher, it is a challenging task to have students online and in the room at the same time.
