Linda Bradley is a Senior Lecturer in higher education pedagogy at the Department of education, communication and learning at University of Gothenburg, working at the Pedagogical Development and Interactive Learning unit. Linda is also a member of The Linnaeus Centre for Research on Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society (LinCS).


Linda's PhD project from 2013 was in Educational Sciences within the area of digital technology and learning. The focus was student collaboration, communication and intercultural learning in web-based environments within English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in higher education within the area of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Linda’s research, founded in a sociocultural tradition, concerns social interaction and the use of digital technology in learning and education. She has an interest in open learning and education and has investigated open learning practices through her work in two EU-funded projects, one Lifelong Learning, LangOER, and one Erasmus+ project, ExplOERer, of uses of Open Educational Resources and Open Educational Practices. In addition, she is also a member of the Erasmus+ project M-Lang, with the aim of developing pedagogical and methodological approaches to using quick-response tools in teaching and learning.

Linda’s background is within language learning and information technology, with a Master’s degree in languages and a Bachelor’s degree in information technology. She has a long experience teaching technical communication, Language for Specific Purposes (LSP) courses for engineering students as well as Master Mariner students at Chalmers University of Technology. In course development, she has engaged specifically in student collaboration and peer response in face-to-face as well as digital environments.

Currently, Linda is project leader at Chalmers for a two-year mobile learning project funded by AMIF (Asyl-, migrations, och integrationsfonden) between 1 November 2016- 31 October 2018. The aim is geared at developing mobile learning applications for newly arrived migrants to Sweden with a focus on pedagogical approaches in digital technology for learning Swedish and about Swedish culture. The project is devoted to digital language development and intercultural communication training.

Linda is also vice-president of the non-profit association Research-publishing.net. In addition, she is affiliated with University West in the research group Learning in a digitalized region (DigitaL).
