Copyright for university teachers

Knowledge about copyright laws is becoming more and more important for university teachers. How do I do if I want to use material whose copyright belongs to somebody else? And how do I share my own material?

The Higher Education Institutions Agreement

On 1 January 2014, a new agreement between SUHF (The Association of Swedish Higher Education) and Bonus Copyright Access entered into force. The agreement enables entirely new possibilities to copy and share copyright protected material for teaching, among other things significantly enhanced facilities to copy and share digitally. Please note: Teachers should continue to ask for permission from the Gothenburg University Library before sharing the Library's digital material. The agreement with Bonus Copyright Access doesn't cover all the library's e-resources.

Creative Commons

Creative Commons is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to use and share. The organization has released several copyright licenses known as Creative Commons licenses. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators.
